Inspect before accepting
Photograph all sides, hour meter, fuel level, tyres or tracks, glass, panels, attachments, pins and hoses. Record warning lights, leaks and existing damage. Match serial numbers and included items to the docket before the delivery driver leaves.
Capture the operating handover
Confirm controls, isolation, emergency systems, daily checks, fluid requirements, regeneration procedures and any machine-specific limits. Make manuals and supplier support details accessible to authorised operators throughout the hire.
Close the hire deliberately
Repeat the condition photographs, record hours and fuel, remove project material and confirm collection timing. Report damage or defects promptly rather than waiting for off-hire inspection. Keep the off-hire confirmation with the project record.
