Describe a real working day

Give the supplier the work pattern, expected intensity, breaks and shift length. Ask how the proposed unit's operating time depends on that duty and on site conditions. A brochure maximum is not a guarantee for your application. Explain whether the machine can stop mid-shift or whether another unit would be needed while it charges.

Verify the supply before delivery

Ask for the charging equipment and supply requirements of the exact unit. Have an appropriately qualified electrical person confirm that the site's available supply and installation are suitable. Identify who supplies the charger and associated equipment. A power point somewhere on the site does not establish that the complete charging arrangement is ready for the machine.

Protect the charging window

Allocate a practical parking and charging location that remains accessible after the working day. Discuss cable routing, security and the site's charging rules with the responsible team. Nominate who connects the unit according to its instructions and checks readiness for the next shift. If multiple machines share infrastructure, schedule them rather than assuming they can all charge together.

Compare the whole arrangement

Include charging infrastructure, transport, standby equipment and support in the quote comparison. Ask how the supplier handles charging faults and whether a replacement includes a compatible charger. Record the supplied accessories at handover and return. If site power is unavailable, have the supplier assess alternatives; adding another hired power source can change the cost and practical benefits of the choice.

Put it into a practical brief

For an electric access platform used over consecutive shifts, give the supplier both shifts' duty and the charging window between them. Ask who provides the charger and what site supply must be confirmed. If another machine shares the charging area, disclose that arrangement to the people assessing capacity and scheduling. Nominate an end-of-shift contact to follow the manufacturer's charging process and report faults. Check readiness before the next crew arrives, so an incomplete charge is discovered while there is still time to arrange support.
