When attachments change the machine

Buckets, grabs, breakers, augers and specialised tools can change required flow, stability, guarding and transport—not merely the task performed.

Specify the material and outcome

Describe what the attachment must do, the material it will meet and the production target. Trench width, rock hardness, load geometry, vegetation size and compaction requirements are more useful than asking for a generic attachment by name.

Confirm compatibility as a system

The host machine needs the correct hitch, hydraulic flow, pressure, auxiliary lines, electrical controls and safe operating capacity. Check attachment weight against lifting charts and stability. Ask whether guarding, a case drain, dust suppression or additional exclusion controls are required.

Include the attachment in logistics

Attachments consume deck space and may change transport mass or loading arrangements. Confirm whether they arrive fitted, how they will be stored and who is authorised to change them. Photograph pins, hoses and wear surfaces during handover and return.

General guidance only. Confirm project-specific requirements with competent people and the proposed supplier.
